When Grief Changes You

When life changes you, healing begins with coming home to yourself.

"One morning, standing in the kitchen with my hands wrapped around a cup of tea, I realised I wasn't waiting for tomorrow.

I was waiting for my life to return to before.

But that life no longer existed.

And the woman I had been... she was gone too."

There are moments in life that divide everything into before and after.

Sometimes that moment is the loss of a relationship with your child.

Sometimes it is grief, estrangement, distance or the quiet ache of becoming someone you never expected to be.

When Grief Changes You is Jennifer Morrison's deeply personal reflection on what happens when motherhood, love and identity collide with heartbreak.

Written with honesty, compassion and hope, this book gently walks beside parents who are navigating loss, searching for meaning and slowly finding themselves again.

It isn't a book about having all the answers.

It's a book about discovering there is still life after grief.

Why I wrote this book

I never intended to write a book.

I simply needed somewhere for my heart to speak.

After experiencing the loss of my relationship with my own child, I found myself standing in a place that very few people understood. The grief was invisible. The silence was overwhelming. And the woman I once recognised seemed to disappear alongside it.

Writing became part of my healing.

Page by page I began making sense of the heartbreak, the guilt, the questions and, eventually, the quiet hope that still remained.

If these words help even one parent feel less alone...

if they remind one mother that she is still worthy...

if they offer one person permission to begin healing—

then this book has done exactly what it was written to do.
